BRUSHTON, N.Y. — New York State Police have identified Melissa K. Pelc-Lohr, 50, of Brushton, and her ex-husband, Norman E. Lohr Jr., 50, of Michigan, as the two people found dead following separate incidents Monday in Franklin and Wayne counties.
According to state police, Pelc-Lohr was found dead inside a residence on South Woods Road in Brushton with gunshot wounds. Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Lohr was identified as the driver of a red 2009 Chevrolet Silverado involved in a police pursuit on Route 14 in the town of Lyons, Wayne County. Police said he was later found dead inside the vehicle with a gunshot wound.
Investigators have not publicly confirmed the circumstances that led to either death or explained how the two incidents may be connected.
New York State Police executed search warrants at both locations as part of the investigation. Authorities continue to examine the evidence and circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The investigation remains ongoing, and further information may be released as officials continue their work.
