Nathan Simms Ozaukee County, WI Death: Ozaukee Warriors Little League Player has Died

The Ozaukee County community is heartbroken by the passing of Nathan Joseph Simms, a beloved 11-year-old boy whose life ended far too soon on Friday, October 30, 2026. Nathan was more than just a name—he was a cherished son, a devoted brother, a loyal friend, and a light in the lives of all who knew him.

Born on May 18, 2015, to parents Joshua (Angel) Simms and Jessica (Jeff) Simms, Nathan was a 6th grader at Northern Ozaukee Middle School. He played football, baseball, and soccer, and his knowledge of sports stats was expansive. Nathan was known to rattle off his endless “nerdy facts” and could argue his point convincingly. He was known for his light, goofy spirit and was always making his friends and family laugh.

Nathan was sweet, gentle, caring, and thoughtful. He loved to give out hugs to anyone he could, and he loved to snuggle with his family. He enjoyed nature and fishing, and spending time outdoors. When he wasn’t outdoors, he enjoyed gaming with his friends, siblings, and cousins. Above all, he loved being an older brother to Erynn, Cooper, Maverick, and Wyatt. Nathan enjoyed spending his time with his cousins, friends, and extended family whenever he could.

Nathan is survived by his parents and siblings; his grandparents Shelly (Mike) Kroeger, Teri (Scott) Hollrith, and great-grandpa Richard Junge. He is further survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his Papa Bruce Koehler; his uncle Alan Hamm; and great-grandparents Ginny Junge, and Joe and Betty Hamm.

A Funeral Service for Nathan will be held at 6 PM on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington (1600 W. Grand Ave, Port Washington, WI 53074). His family will greet visitors from 2 PM until the time of Service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family for Nathan’s memorial fund can be made at Port Washington State Bank.

To Nathan’s family and friends, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. The pain of losing a child is an unimaginable burden, and no words can truly ease that sorrow. Please know that you are surrounded by a community that grieves with you and will hold you in prayer in the days ahead.

Rest peacefully, Nathan. You will be deeply missed and always remembered in the hearts of those who loved you.
