A beautiful spirit is remembered through the laughter she shared, the people she loved, and the lives she touched. For Raven Prince, those memories remain a source of comfort for a grieving family and community following her tragic death at 45.

Prince, an East Vancouver resident and mother of four, died after being struck by a southbound SUV while crossing Main Street at National Avenue shortly after midnight on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
According to Vancouver police, the collision threw her approximately 30 metres. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors.
Her husband, Rivers Stonechild, described the loss as surreal and heartbreaking. Although the couple were separated, they maintained a loving relationship and raised four children together, including their youngest, who is 14.
Beyond motherhood, Raven was known for her vibrant personality and strong community connections. Stonechild remembered her as a social butterfly with an infectious laugh. She loved singing, playing softball, and participating as a pow wow dancer.
Her Indigenous heritage and involvement in community life were important parts of the story shared by her family. Her warmth and ability to connect with others left lasting memories among those fortunate enough to know her.
A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support her family, while a celebration of life is being planned.
Raven Prince’s passing is a heartbreaking loss. Though her life ended unexpectedly, the love she shared, the children she raised, and the memories she created will continue to live on. May her family find strength and comfort in the legacy she leaves behind.
