According to the New York State Police, troopers were dispatched to State Route 22A in Granville at approximately 3:50 a.m. Sunday following reports of a serious motor vehicle accident. When officers arrived, they discovered a vehicle that had traveled off the roadway.
An investigation revealed that the vehicle was reportedly traveling southbound along State Route 22A when, for reasons that remain under investigation, it left the road and struck a utility pole before continuing into an earth embankment.
Nolan, who was identified as a passenger in the vehicle, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Despite the emergency response, he was pronounced deceased at the scene by authorities.
The driver also sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center for emergency medical treatment. According to police, the driver remained in critical but stable condition following the crash.
